A Fish Tale is REELED in New York and beyond
Long Island’s 10th ‘Getting Reel’ Film Festival is set to be a ‘biggie’ and ‘A Fish Tale’ is up there and screening in New York on Friday 13th July.
Set to ride the waves of successive film festivals, The documentary, about exploitation of Rottnest Island’s natural resources, is swimming around the globe without a hint of tiring.
A Fish Tale also screens in the finals of the Los Angeles Short Film Festival before making its way to the finals of the Hawaii Film Festival. A quick aloha and then the long swim across the Pacific to New Zealand for the finals of the ‘Show Me Your Shorts’ festival is just a warm up for this punchy little doco.

The Drug Aware Pro
Black Pearl Pictures covered this event from Friday 30th March to Monday 2nd April.
World class surfers from around the globe congregated to compete upon
some of Margaret River's well known surf. The event was broadcast live to 48 countries and 1 billion viewers worldwide
A special mention we feel must go to the sponsors and administration involved in
the running of this event,
as it was a breathe of fresh air to see such an important,
home grown event, so well executed with true diligence.
We interviewed many of the competitors, getting feedback on what they
think of Australia, surfing in Australia and our pristine coast lines.
Including:
Amy Donaghue
(ranked world number 4) and Neco Padaratz (World Number 7)
among dozens of other world class Surfers.

Damon Harvey going for the giant moves in the Toohey's Extra Dry Expression Session.

Kieren Perrow (Aus), Big winner at the Drug Aware Pro Margaret River.
The Drug Aware Pro at Margaret River was a great event for all involved. We hope to be there in '08

Music - Bourbon Sprawl
Bourbon Sprawl was initially formed in mid 2005 by Bandana Man, Simon In Japan & Mambo... By early 2006 Mambo had left the band. Drummerless & drunk, Bourbon Sprawl scoured the gutters and found Rusty Red-Can as a replacement.. In January 2007, Bourbon Sprawl went on a bender to begin another bender and when they came to, they discovered there was now a fourth member to the band. This was the lead vocalist El Brad Borracho.
On June 29th Bourbon Sprawl played to a packed house at the Swan Basement renowned for unearthing some very savvy local talent. Black Pearl was there to capture the boys in live style, which will be uploaded to their Myspace site in the near future.
