Who are we? Black Pearl is a company formed from the imaginative energies of several talented individuals, each bringing a set of skills to the desktop, with the expressed desire to generate brilliance. What do we do? As a production company, we have embraced many forms of delivery to our clients. Moving or still photography can be presented in many forms and to many receptors. We tend to direct our clients towards a multi-platform approach. An example of this would be a corporate documentary. It is no longer viable, from a corporate perspective, to just produce a video or DVD. Today's market place is working on many fronts. Longer form documentaries are accompanied by shorter, compressed format, online content, to be downloaded to mobile telephones, Ipods or just viewed online. If a website is required or needs to be updated, we can provide that too. Couple that with printed documents like a prospectus, posters and flyers and all that remains is the stubby holders. And guess what? We can provide those too. A complete package, including DVD's for customers, can be given the same glossy, corporate image. So, Black Pearl is a corporate promotions company? Not exactly, Black Pearl is an audio/visual production house, specializing in many areas of creative design. We write and produce feature films, we produce television drama, documentaries, lifestyle/magazine programs as well as commercials and corporate stuff. In fact we produce “stuff” full stop. Why Black Pearl? It is a name, which conjures up an image of mystery, of rare beauty. As filmmakers, we are used to the constant struggle for survival, against almost overwhelming odds and in an industry which, unlike sport, suffers from funding anorexia. Black Pearl; is the jewel that makes the struggle worthwhile. What if its difficult? We, as a collective whole, have never shied from a challenge, just because it is difficult. At Black Pearl, we have enough expertise to tackle just about anything. As an example, if it is too difficult to film, the location, or the action impossible to record, we build it in CG. Computer generated graphics is just one tool of many available to us at Black Pearl and we are not slow in using them all to get a result, so bring on the wind. What medium do we use? The audio-visual medium has undergone some rapid changes in the last few years and Black Pearl has endeavored to stay ahead of the pack. HIGH DEFINITION VIDEO is taking the world on a never before seen, visual experience. Black Pearl has embraced this technology with all hands and will continue to shoot for excellence in this medium. Casting Just like the crew at Black Pearl, the cast plays a huge role in the success of any project, whether it be a household name for status or just good talent, the casting is something not taken lightly, with attention to detail from our director, we can provide the right image, regardless of the project.
